Nanotechnology is the introduction of designed materials on an atomic or molecular level up for their specific properties. This not only involves newly discovered materials on the atomic/molecular level, it also involves understanding and improving on traditional materials (i.e. steel, plastics, ceramics, etc.) by knowing and controlling their structure on an atom-by-atom basis.
This is all possible through recent improvements scientific tools with the ability to determine structures of this size. The use of these tools to determine what has been developed is called characterization.
NanoBlox uses a proprietary technique to produce nanodiamonds with an average size of 5 nanometers (nm). As a comparison of size, a DNA strand is 1.4 nm in diameter. NanoBlox uses purification techniques to offer different grades of nanodiamonds that can be used for applications ranging from stronger and lighter armor to drug delivery.
